Children's Theatre Foundation, founded in 1981, was reorganized in 2002 with an expanded vision of support for theatre arts programs.  Through the ensuing years CTF has sponsored and/or co-sponsored the following projects:
  • McKinley Elementary's "Acting on Diversity" 3rd-5th grade drama club.
  • Myers Elementary's "Heritage Stories & How We Came to be Here" project culminating in a script performed by 3rd-5th graders and then incorporated into the 4th grade curriculum in the future.
  • Willamette University's School of Education "Introducing 'New Comers' to the Arts", a comprehensive theatre arts experience including Richmond and Waldo students.
  • Judson Middle School's project "The Dance" creating an original production about middle school relationships including 5th graders from feeder schools and former Judson students (now high schoolers).
  • Four years of a community based musical production, Ebenezer, based on Dickens' Christmas Carol.  It was written by Salemites Bob Voight, Gary Frame, and Glen Williams and featured as many as 105 in the cast.
  • Oregon Project, I Must Walk Toward Oregon, written by playwright Sandra Ascher, in cooperation with senior citizens and Children's Educational Theatre students.  It chronicles pioneers on the Oregon Trail until the turn of the century.
  • Peanuts Project, A Tribute to Charles Schultz, researched, written, and performed by CET students at Riverfront Park.
  • Carousel Project written and costumed for Salem's Riverfront Park Carousel dedication.  Performed at the Elsinore Theatre by CET students and Richmond Elementary Students for the dedication of the carousel.  It included theatre education classes at Richmond Elementary School.
  • Week-long classes for Hoover Elementary School when they had year 'round school.  CTF partnered with Willamette University, CET, and the Salem/Keizer School District for the classes during Christmas and spring breaks.
  • Hoover Harlequin's Hoover Elementary School's two-hour performing arts classes, two days a week.  CTF partnered with Willamette University, Western Oregon University, CET, and the Salem/Keizer School District in sponsoring after school theatre training workshop/classes for grades 4 and 5.
  • Washington Elementary School's Broadway Babies Theatre Workshop.  This year-long program involved after school workshops in theatre/dance two days a week, and now includes 4th graders and training with HEART skills.  Parents and interested adults created costumes and sets for their production of Annie.
  • Salem Boys Choir's Special Project for their trip to Europe.
  • Salem Boys Choir's Boys on Broadway production.
  • Mary Eyre's Marionette Club.
  • Willamette University's Taking the Art of Theatre to Rural Schools.
  • Willamette University's Theatre as a Catalyst to Learning with the Roberts Learning Center Alternative School in the Salem/Keizer School District.
